Hong Kong Events - November 2027
November 2027 is when Hong Kong switches on for winter. WinterFest, the city's Christmas lighting and events season, begins in November — the 2026-27 edition started on 1 November 2026, so expect the switch-on early in the month, though the 2027 dates have not been announced. The Freespace Jazz Fest is expected at the West Kowloon arts district in early November, and the Victoria Harbour Race across the harbour is the month's big sport. It is also the opera month on this street: the Yau Ma Tei Theatre's Cantonese-opera season runs into the winter. The weather is mild and dry, which makes November one of the two best months of the year for a long evening at the market.

🗓️ Status: Annual event; the 2027 dates are not yet confirmed. The previous edition began on 1 November, so expect the season to open early in the month rather than mid-month. Discover Hong Kong

🧭 Practical notes for November
- Weather: mild, dry and clear - the best walking month of the year alongside October. Long evenings at the market work again, and the claypot-rice stalls are back in earnest.
- WinterFest switch-on: the lighting season draws crowds to the Central and TST waterfronts at weekends; the market is a calmer alternative on those nights.
- Getting there: Jordan MTR is the closest station. See how to get here.
- Timing: check the opening hours and closing time pages before a special trip.
- Entry and prices: free to walk; food and readings are paid and any quoted figure is indicative. See the 2027 food guide, the claypot rice guide and fortune-telling.
- Free alternatives: the Tin Hau Temple, the Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market and the harbourfront light installations.
- Before you travel: WinterFest and the autumn festival dates are confirmed through the year. Check Discover Hong Kong or the best time to visit.
