Hong Kong Events - October 2027
October 2027 is the month Hong Kong has been waiting for all summer: the heat breaks, the skies clear and the evening market becomes the best it is all year. National Day opens the month on Friday 1 October, with fireworks over the harbour expected that evening, and Chung Yeung falls on Friday 8 October. The Hong Kong Open, a DP World Tour event, is at Fanling from 21 to 24 October, and the Wine and Dine Festival normally takes over the Central Harbourfront in the last days of the month. For Temple Street, October is the month to spend a long evening: claypot rice comes back into its own, and the fortune-tellers work a full house.

🧭 Practical notes for October
- Best weather of the year: dry, warm and clear. This is the month to plan a long evening at the market and a daytime walk along the West Kowloon waterfront.
- Fireworks night: 1 October is the busiest night on the harbour. MTR services are stepped up but stations near the waterfront, including Tsim Sha Tsui, run crowd-control measures. Watch from the West Kowloon side if you want to get away afterwards.
- Getting there: Jordan MTR is the closest station. See how to get here.
- Timing: check the opening hours and closing time pages before a special trip.
- Entry and prices: free to walk; food and readings are paid, and any quoted price is indicative. See the 2027 food guide, the claypot rice guide and fortune-telling.
- Free alternatives: the Tin Hau Temple and the Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market, plus the free museum galleries.
- Before you travel: the Wine and Dine dates and the fireworks detail are published through the year. Check Discover Hong Kong and the best time to visit.
