Hong Kong Events - June 2027
June 2027 is Dragon Boat month. The Tuen Ng Festival holiday falls on Wednesday 9 June, and the races that go with it run across the month on the city's beaches and in Victoria Harbour. The Hong Kong Philharmonic closes its season in the middle of the month, and the French May season finally winds up. Temperatures are into the low thirties and the humidity is high, so Temple Street becomes an after-dark pleasure: the seafood and cold-beer side of the dai pai dong trade takes over from the claypot rice, the fortune-tellers work the late crowd, and the impromptu Cantonese opera in the square draws the biggest audiences of the summer.

🧭 Practical notes for June
- Heat and rain: expect low thirties and frequent heavy showers. The market is best after 8pm, when the temperature drops a little and every stall is trading.
- Dragon Boat day: races start early, often by 8am, and finish by mid-afternoon — best reached from Jordan by MTR rather than taxi.
- Getting there: Jordan MTR is the closest station to the market. See how to get here.
- Timing: check the opening hours and closing time pages before a special trip.
- Entry and prices: free to walk; food and readings are paid, and any quoted figure is indicative. See the 2027 food guide and fortune-telling.
- Free alternatives: the Tin Hau Temple, the Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market and the Hong Kong Museum of Art in TST are all free — and all have shade or air conditioning.
- Before you travel: dragon-boat dates and the summer festival programme are published through the spring. Check Discover Hong Kong or the best time to visit.
